Have you tried Nina’s Noms? They are balls of delicious Brazilian cheese bread known as pão de queijo in Brazil. They are made with tapioca flour, are gluten free, and may come with filling inside. One of its varieties is bun-sized, which makes it great for making sandwiches.

Nina’s Noms was created and founded by Chicago resident, Angelina Froes. Angelina continues to promote Nina’s Noms, which includes handing out warm samples at grocery stores throughout Chicago. Her product can now be found in stores across the city. Read about how it came about for her in her personal writings to Bon Tour Chicago.

“How it All Started”

“Growing up in Rio, I never thought twice about pão de queijo. It was just there, warm, cheesy and always good. It tasted like home. When I moved to the U.S. in 2017, it became one of the things I missed most. I went looking for it here, but nothing quite hit the same. I wanted pão de queijo that tasted incredible every time, made with really good ingredients and the kind of care I grew up with, so I started making my own.

First for friends, then for a store, then a few more, then ten, then fifteen, all while keeping my corporate job. I kept making pão de queijo the way I believed it should be made, never cutting corners and never compromising on what went into it. Eventually, Nina’s Noms grew enough for me to leave the corporate world behind and give it everything.

Today, Nina’s Noms is my way of sharing a little piece of Brazil with more people. Real Brazilian pão de queijo, made with love, really good ingredients and the belief that something this simple should be really, really good”

Nina’s Noms comes in five varieties:
